杉本タエ子のもとに娘の夏希と孫のみずきが越してくる。タエ子はみずきにかつての自分を重ねる――父が買ってきたパイナップルの苦い味、テストの悲惨な点数、学芸会で目醒めた女優魂――そしてタエ子は、あきらめていた夢を再び追う。「私、舞台に立ちます」オーディションを受け稽古に打ち込むタエ子。だがその矢先、公演を予定していた劇場が倒産してしまう。
