人生に絶望し自殺を図ろうとするも一歩踏み出せずにいる北という男。テレビ番組をみて、ふと「北海道で蟹を食べてから死のう」と思いつくが、金がないため強盗を決意。図書館で偶然出会った裕福そうな人妻を家までつけていき襲い掛かるが、その人妻の反応はなんと「乱暴さえしなければお金も性的欲求も満たして差し上げる」というもの。あまりにも浮世離れした態度と美しさに圧倒され、北が「死ぬ前に北海道で蟹を食べるために強盗に入った」と事情を話すと、「いいですね、蟹。私も一緒に北海道に行きたい」というまさかの反応。こうして、2人は北海道まで旅をすることになる。死を決意した男と、謎にまみれたセレブ人妻。
